ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has confirmed that 299 people, including 140 children, have lost their lives due to severe monsoon rains and flash floods since late June. Over 700 individuals have been injured, and thousands displaced as the country faces another powerful wave of heavy rainfall starting August 4.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), another spell of rain, wind, and thunderstorms is expected across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan through August 7. This fresh round of monsoon showers could worsen the already critical situation in flood-affected areas.

🛑 Sixth Monsoon Spell Set to Hit Punjab
Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a high alert as the province prepares for its sixth spell of heavy rainfall starting August 5.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia warned that rains could lead to medium to high-level flooding in rivers Chenab and Jhelum, affecting multiple districts including:
