Acer Laptops to Be Assembled in Pakistan Soon
Oct 24, 2025
Pakistan’s tech manufacturing sector is set for a major boost as Airlink Communication Limited prepares to locally assemble Acer laptops. The first shipment of 10,000 units is expected to arrive by November, marking the start of a pilot phase that could lead to full-scale production in the country.
During a recent corporate briefing with Topline Securities, Airlink shared that the imported laptops will initially be used to assess market response. If the pilot phase performs well, the company plans to transition to complete local assembly.
A Step Toward “Made in Pakistan”
Airlink’s management revealed that once the facility becomes fully operational, it will have the capacity to assemble up to 10,000 laptops per month, generating around Rs. 4 billion annually.
By investing in local manufacturing, the company aims to:
-
Reduce reliance on imports
-
Lower consumer prices
-
Create new employment opportunities
-
Strengthen Pakistan’s position in the regional tech industry
Supporting the Government’s Industrial Vision
This development aligns with the government’s “Made in Pakistan” initiative, which promotes local manufacturing and industrial growth across multiple sectors.
If successful, this project could open the door for more global brands to consider Pakistan as a viable production hub, boosting the country’s technology and export potential.
