Asad Zaman to Face Amir Mazari in Boys U-18 Final at SICAS Punjab Junior Tennis Championship

The SICAS Punjab Junior Tennis Championship 2025 continued to showcase some of Pakistan’s brightest young tennis talents on its fifth day at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore.

A total of 20 thrilling matches were played across various age categories, with the Boys U-18 singles and doubles semifinals taking center stage. Rising stars Asad Zaman of Ali Embroidery Mills and Amir Mazari of Aitchison College advanced to the much-anticipated final showdown after delivering commanding performances in their respective matches.

Boys U-18: Zaman and Mazari Dominate Semifinals

In the singles semifinals, Asad Zaman was in sensational form, defeating Ahmad Fareed Yawar 6-2, 6-0 in a one-sided contest. On the other side, Amir Mazari displayed his trademark power and precision to beat Abdullah Pirzada 6-0, 6-2, setting up a high-stakes final against Zaman.

The doubles semifinals were equally competitive. Mazari and Haroon Arif outplayed Romail Shahid and Faizan Haider 6-3, while Zaman and Abdullah Pirzada breezed past Salar and Muaz 6-1, paving the way for an exciting doubles final.

Junior Categories Deliver Exciting Tennis

In the Boys U-14 category, Ohad e Mustafa overcame Muhammad Muaz 4-1, 5-3, while M. Umar Ali came from behind to edge past Muhammad Aayan 1-4, 4-1, 5-3 in a thrilling battle.

In the Boys U-12 division, Muhammad Aayan of Fatima Group produced a flawless performance to defeat Mustafa Uzair Rana 4-0, 4-0 in straight sets.

Girls U-12 and Senior Matches

In the Girls U-12 semifinals, Aiman Rehan showed remarkable resilience, bouncing back from a set down to beat Eman Shahbaz 0-4, 4-0, 5-3 in one of the day’s most exciting matches.

Among the seniors, in the 45+ doubles semifinals, Talha Waheed and Ashar Khan outclassed Dr. Arif and Arif Feroze 8-2, while Sheheryar Salamat and Hadi Hussain triumphed over Hasan Said and Qadir Nawaz 8-4.

Finals and Closing Ceremony

All final matches of the SICAS Punjab Junior Tennis Championship will be played today (Thursday) at the Punjab Tennis Academy. The prize distribution ceremony will be held after the finals, with Mr. Sheheryar Salamat, Director of SICAS, attending as the chief guest.
