Atlas Honda to Launch Electric Scooters Tailored for Pakistan

KARACHI: In a significant move toward sustainable mobility, Atlas Honda Ltd (AHL) has announced plans to launch electric scooters specifically designed for the Pakistani market. The development comes in response to the government’s recently announced National Electric Vehicle Policy (NEVP), aimed at promoting eco-friendly transportation solutions across the country.

In a formal disclosure to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday, AHL confirmed that it is actively working with relevant regulatory authorities to obtain the necessary approvals for a smooth and compliant product launch.

The company aims to introduce the electric scooters before the end of the current fiscal year, following the completion of rigorous quality assurance checks and on-road testing.

Focus on Local Needs and Urban Mobility

According to AHL’s annual report for the year ending March 2025, the company has laid out a comprehensive long-term strategy for the electric vehicle (EV) sector. It plans to cater to key segments, including:

  • Urban commuters

  • Delivery service providers

  • Government fleet programmes

AHL aims to differentiate itself in the EV space by offering high-quality, locally assembled electric scooters, leveraging its strong brand recognition and extensive distribution network.

EV Market Vision 2030

As part of its long-term goals, Atlas Honda plans to capture a significant share of Pakistan’s growing EV market by 2030. The company’s strategy reflects its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and local economic development through domestic assembly and job creation.

With growing environmental awareness and government incentives encouraging EV adoption, the launch of electric scooters is expected to play a crucial role in transforming urban mobility in Pakistan.
