Azam Khan Replaces Sikandar Raza in Quetta Qavalry Squad for Abu Dhabi T10 League

Azam Khan Replaces Sikandar Raza in Quetta Qavalry Squad for Abu Dhabi T10 League
 Oct 28, 2025

The Quetta Qavalry have announced a key change to their lineup ahead of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, with Azam Khan replacing Sikandar Raza, who has withdrawn due to international duties.

Initially named in the Qavalry’s final squad for their debut season, Sikandar Raza will now lead Zimbabwe in a home T20I series against Afghanistan, followed by a tri-nation series featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe next month.

Confirming the update on social media, the franchise welcomed Azam Khan with a lively post:

“Another big hitter gets into the saddle! Azam Khan joins the Qavalry roster while Sikandar Raza fulfills national commitments. Khush Aamdeed, Impact Khan!”

The 27-year-old Azam Khan, known for his explosive power-hitting, brings local experience and depth to Quetta’s batting order. He previously represented Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) from 2018 to 2021, where he gained a reputation as one of the most dynamic finishers in the league.

Since then, Azam has featured in several top franchise leagues — including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), ILT20, Global T20 Canada (GT20), and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) — showcasing his ability to adapt to the high-paced demands of T20 and T10 cricket.

While his international numbers remain modest, Azam’s raw strength and quick scoring ability make him a natural fit for the T10 format, where every ball counts.

The Quetta Qavalry, one of the new teams in this year’s competition, have already built a strong squad featuring Mohammad Amir, Khawaja Nafay, Abbas Afridi, and Arafat Minhas alongside Azam Khan.

The Abu Dhabi T10 League is scheduled from November 18 to 30, and with Azam’s addition, the Qavalry look even more formidable heading into their maiden campaign. Fans will be eager to see if the hard-hitting wicketkeeper can light up Abu Dhabi with his trademark big shots.
