Bad News for LESCO Electricity Consumers

LESCO Suspends Electricity Bill Installments to Meet June Recovery Targets

LAHORE – June 18, 2025:
The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced the temporary suspension of electricity bill installment plans for all consumers in a move aimed at meeting its revenue recovery goals for the month of June.

Full Payment Required for June Bills

According to the latest directive, consumers are required to pay their June electricity bills in full, with no option for installment-based payments. LESCO has also instructed its field teams to disconnect electricity connections of users who either fail to pay their current bills or have outstanding dues from previous months.

Focus on Outstanding Dues

In addition to current billing, authorities have been tasked with recovering any prior dues listed in consumer accounts. LESCO officials emphasized that this step is necessary to improve overall collection efficiency and maintain financial stability in line with NEPRA guidelines.

No More Installments — For Now

While LESCO previously allowed customers to clear dues through installments, this facility has been put on hold for June 2025. The utility clarified that this decision is a temporary measure and is intended to boost revenue collection before the end of the fiscal cycle.

Bill Deadline Extensions Still Possible

Although installment options are suspended, extensions on payment due dates may still be granted, as per the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) regulations. However, if bills remain unpaid even after the extended period, electricity supply will be disconnected without further notice.

Conclusion

Consumers are advised to clear their electricity bills in full and on time to avoid service disruptions. LESCO has urged all users to cooperate during this period as the company works toward meeting its financial and regulatory obligations.
