India Unveils Squad for Asia Cup 2025, Media Manager Blocks Question on Pakistan Clash

India has officially announced its squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) press conference took an unexpected turn on Tuesday when a question about the much-anticipated match against Pakistan was stopped midway.

The event, attended by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Suryakumar Yadav, focused on team selection. However, when a journalist asked about India’s plans for the September 14 encounter against Pakistan in Dubai, the BCCI media manager intervened, clarifying that only questions related to squad composition would be taken.

The move quickly drew attention, with fans already eagerly awaiting the first meeting between the two rivals since earlier this year. Both teams have been placed in the same group, raising the possibility of multiple contests during the tournament.

India will begin its Asia Cup campaign against the UAE on September 10, followed by the high-profile clash with Pakistan on September 14, and then a group-stage match against Oman on September 19. Depending on results, the sides could potentially meet again in the Super Four stage or even the final, adding to the excitement.
