International Beach Volleyball Returns to Montréal for Beach Pro Tour Elite 2025
Montréal is set to host the Beach Pro Tour Montréal Elite 2025, marking its return to the international beach volleyball stage after a successful 2023 event. The tournament, the sixth Elite stop of the 2025 season, runs from Wednesday to Sunday at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Matches will be available live on VBTV.
Canadian Olympic medalists Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes headline the women’s draw. Coming off a training camp in Brazil, the duo aims to secure their first medal of the season after finishing fifth in three consecutive Elite events in Brasília, Ostrava, and Gstaad.
Brazilian stars Victoria Lopes and Thamela Coradello, leaders in the FIVB World Rankings, are strong contenders, having already won two golds this season. Other top challengers include Carol Salgado and Rebecca Cavalcanti, Olympic champions Eduarda ‘Duda’ Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos, and Germans Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann.
Hosts Canada also feature Marie-Alex Bélanger and Lea Monkhouse via wildcard entries, while Devin Corah and Ruby Sorra compete in the qualifiers.
On the men’s side, reigning champions Anders Mol and Christian Sørum of Norway return to defend their title. Sitting atop the FIVB World Rankings, the Vikings have already earned three medals this season and are fresh off a European Championship victory. Swedish rivals David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, who defeated Mol and Sørum for gold in Ostrava, are also in contention.
Fans can expect thrilling matches and high-level beach volleyball action as the world’s best players compete for glory in Montréal.
