The upcoming 2026 T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is set to impact the calendars of key franchise cricket leagues across Asia. The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) may face a scheduling conflict with both the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL), potentially creating a rare three-way clash in the regional T20 cricket calendar.

BPL chairman Mahbub Anam has confirmed that the tournament could move from its usual December–January slot due to Bangladesh’s general elections and the World Cup timeline. “The BPL slot may change due to the elections,” Mahbub stated after an emergency board meeting at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. “We will finalize plans based on government decisions, with May being a strong option.”
