British-Pakistani Teen Mahnoor Cheema Breaks Multiple World Records with 24 A-Levels

London, August 2025Mahnoor Cheema, an 18-year-old British-Pakistani student, has made headlines worldwide after completing 24 A-Level subjects with top distinctions, breaking four world records and cementing her place as one of the most accomplished secondary school students in history.

Mahnoor, who had already set records in her GCSEs, now holds six global academic records, including:

  • Most individual A-Level subjects completed with distinction – 24 subjects plus an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

  • Highest number of A and A grades in A-Levels*, with 19 top grades.

  • Combined A grades across GCSEs and A-Levels*, totaling 45 A*s, the most ever by a secondary school student globally.

  • Highest total number of subjects passed with distinction – 58 (34 GCSEs and 24 A-Levels).

At just 16, Mahnoor had already made history by completing 34 GCSE subjects, earning 17 A*s in a single year, setting her fifth and sixth world records.

Mahnoor has also secured admission to the University of Oxford, where she will study Medicine. Speaking from her home in Langley, West London, she said:
“Joining Oxford this October is a dream come true. It’s been an incredible journey, and I owe everything to my parents’ sacrifices and support.”

Born to Lahore natives Barrister Usman Cheema and Tayyaba Cheema, Mahnoor moved to the UK in 2006. She attended Langley Grammar School and Henrietta Barnett School, later switching to homeschooling for her final year.

In addition to her academic achievements, Mahnoor is a multitalented prodigy. She holds an AMusTCL diploma in music (equivalent to an undergraduate degree), has won gold medals in Acting and Public Speaking from LAMDA, and completed her EPQ in just 10 days with a perfect score. She is also a Mensa member.

Her accomplishments have drawn recognition from top figures, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who called her “the daughter of the nation” and gifted her a MacBook for her Oxford interviews.

Mahnoor Cheema’s story is a remarkable example of academic excellence, talent, and dedication, inspiring students across the globe.
