SHANGHAI – September 23, 2025: China Eastern Airlines has announced a groundbreaking new route that will become the world’s longest direct flight, connecting Shanghai, China, to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  • Frequency: Twice weekly in each direction

  • Flight Numbers: MU745 (Shanghai → Buenos Aires) and MU746 (Buenos Aires → Shanghai)

  • Duration: About 25.5 hours from Shanghai to Buenos Aires; 29 hours on the return flight

Significance
