The scheme is expected to reduce air pollution, lower fuel costs, and enhance urban mobility across Punjab.

Scheme Details

  • Total Vehicles: 1,100 electric taxis in the first phase

  • Fleet Owners: 1,000 vehicles allocated, with a minimum of 10 vehicles per owner

  • Individual Drivers: 100 vehicles for Transport Network Company (TNC) drivers, including 70 for men and 30 for women

  • Application Deadline: October 5, 2025 (online at e-taxi.punjab.gov.pk)

So far, the scheme has received 1,027 applications, with a total of 5,401 registrations on the portal.

Buyers will pay a subsidized down payment, and for EVs priced between Rs. 4 million and Rs. 10 million, the government will contribute Rs. 585,000 toward the initial payment.

The Punjab E-Taxi Scheme is expected to modernize public transport while promoting green and sustainable mobility across the province.
