FBR Revises Customs for Medical Items Imported from China

Customs Updates Import Values for Medical Equipment from China

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has revised customs values for a range of medical items and equipment imported from China. The update comes through Valuation Ruling 2020 of 2025, issued on Thursday.

This marks the first revision in eight years. Previously, Valuation Ruling No. 1202 of 2017 set the customs values for such medical goods under Section 25A of the Customs Act. The recent update involved a detailed review of import data, current market trends, and differences between market prices and customs values.

Stakeholders participated in consultations, submitting documents, proposed values, and samples for evaluation. The final customs values have been determined under Section 25(9), read with Section 25(7) of the Customs Act, and Customs Rules 2001. The updated ruling allows reasonable flexibility in valuation methods while ensuring compliance with legal provisions.
