Fishermen warned of rough seas in Sindh

Karachi Braces for Heavy Rains as Weather System Intensifies: Fishermen Advised to Take Precautions

In light of the predicted heavy rains across Sindh due to a weather system intensifying into a depression over Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department has issued an advisory urging fishermen to exercise caution and take necessary precautions from today (Monday) through Saturday.

“Sea conditions are expected to be rough to very rough, and fishermen are advised to remain vigilant during this period,” the advisory stated.

The advisory also mentioned that strong monsoon currents are likely to enter eastern Sindh starting Monday morning, leading to rain and wind-thunderstorms in most districts of the province until August 31.

“From August 27 to August 31, the Karachi division may experience wind-thunderstorms and rain, with scattered heavy to isolated very heavy showers expected during this period, though there may be occasional breaks,” the Met Office noted. For today, the forecast suggests warm, humid, and mostly cloudy conditions in Karachi, with the possibility of rain or drizzle in the evening or night.
