Pakistan Captain Salman Ali Agha Rested Ahead of Asia Cup Opener Due to Neck Spasms

Pakistan cricket fans were left slightly concerned on Wednesday after skipper Salman Ali Agha skipped most of the team’s training session at the ICC Academy, just days before the start of the 2025 Asia Cup.

According to reports, the captain avoided taking part in regular warm-ups and football drills due to neck spasms. He was seen moving cautiously with a bandage around his neck, which sparked speculation about his availability.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was quick to reassure supporters. The team’s media manager clarified that Salman’s issue was nothing serious, describing it as a “mild spasm” and emphasizing that the rest was purely precautionary.

“There are no major concerns. He is expected to recover very soon,” the PCB official stated.

Pakistan’s campaign begins on September 12 against Oman, followed by the much-anticipated clash with India on September 14. The management remains confident that Salman will be fit in time for both matches.

The Green Shirts enter the tournament with strong momentum, having lifted the tri-series trophy recently under Salman’s leadership. His presence will be crucial as Pakistan looks to maintain their winning form.

Despite the temporary setback, the atmosphere in the training camp appeared positive. Players continued with lighter drills, and team morale remains high. Fans will now be hoping that their captain’s precautionary rest ensures he is fully fit for the high-pressure India game on Sunday.
