A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday when a passenger bus caught fire on Balochistan’s Western Bypass, resulting in at least five fatalities and nine injuries. Three of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. The victims have been transported to Civil Hospital in Quetta, and authorities are actively searching for the bus driver, who has reportedly fled the scene.

The Balochistan government has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and has ordered a thorough investigation. Spokesperson Shahid Rind conveyed the government’s condolences to the bereaved families and assured that the injured are receiving the best possible medical care. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against those responsible once the investigation is completed.

This incident adds to a series of recent tragic bus accidents in Balochistan. Earlier this year, a bus-truck collision in Lasbela district resulted in at least 27 deaths, with a joint investigation team attributing the cause to over-speeding and driver negligence. In another incident, a bus carrying a wedding party veered off the road near Quetta’s Western Bypass, leading to nine fatalities and over 50 injuries. Investigations into these accidents are ongoing, with authorities committed to identifying the causes and preventing future occurrences.

The Balochistan government has pledged to provide assistance to the affected families and is taking steps to enhance road safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
