Four Terrorists Eliminated in Khuzdar Operation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces successfully eliminated four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday.

According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on September 17 after reports of militant presence in the area. During the engagement, security forces effectively targeted the hideout, resulting in an intense exchange of fire that led to the elimination of the terrorists.

The ISPR further stated that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered, adding that the militants had been involved in several violent activities in the region. A sanitisation operation is now underway to clear the area of any remaining threats.

This latest operation follows another successful action in Khuzdar earlier this week, where five terrorists were neutralised on September 14 and 15.

Pakistan’s Stand Against Terrorism

The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace across the country. The recent operations are part of broader efforts to counter the surge in cross-border attacks seen in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to a recent report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), militant incidents in August rose by 74% compared to July, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the country.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged Afghanistan to ensure its soil is not used by militant groups for cross-border attacks, as both nations share a 2,500 km-long porous border with multiple crossing points significant for trade and people-to-people contact.
