Full Schedule for LA28 Olympics Revealed — Cricket, Athletics, and Super Saturday Set to Steal the Show

 November 13, 2025

The countdown has officially begun for one of the most anticipated sporting events in history — the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics (LA28). Organizers have unveiled the complete competition schedule, promising two weeks of high-energy action, record participation, and a modern twist to the traditional Olympic experience.

From the grand opening ceremony on July 14 to the closing ceremony on July 30, the LA28 Games will feature 11,200 athletes competing across 51 sports and 49 venues, making it the largest Olympics ever staged.

A historic highlight of LA28 is its commitment to gender equality. For the first time, every team sport will feature equal or greater women’s representation, taking female participation to a record 50.5% of all athletes — a major milestone for the Olympic movement.

In an exciting change, LA28 will flip the traditional schedule — athletics will take place in the first week, while swimming moves to the second. This allows top swimmers to join the opening ceremony without worrying about early-morning races the next day — a first in Olympic history.

Cricket fans have plenty to cheer about too. After more than a century, cricket returns to the Olympics, adding immense excitement for fans, especially across South Asia. Pakistan’s cricket lovers are expected to follow every moment as history unfolds in Los Angeles.

The women’s cricket final is set for July 20, while the men’s final will headline July 29 — a day being billed as the “Super Saturday” of the Games.

Super Saturday, July 29, will feature 26 finals across 23 sports, including athletics, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, cricket, football, swimming, and tennis — making it one of the most action-packed days in Olympic history.

The closing weekend will feature the women’s marathon on July 29 and the men’s marathon on July 30, just before the curtain falls on the Games with a dazzling closing ceremony.

Adding to the excitement, LA28 will introduce flag football and squash as new Olympic sports, while baseball and softball make their long-awaited return. The baseball medal games are scheduled for July 19 at the iconic Dodger Stadium.

With 14 million tickets expected to go on sale and registration opening in January 2028, the LA28 Olympics promise not just elite competition, but a global celebration of sport, culture, and innovation — redefining what the Olympic Games mean for a new generation.
