Islamabad High Court Suspends PTA Chairman Removal Order
Islamabad – In a significant development, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday suspended the earlier order by single-bench Justice Babar Sattar that had removed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General (retd) Hafeez Ur Rehman from his post.
A two-member division bench consisting of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Inam Amin Minhas heard the intra-court appeals filed by the federal government, PTA, and the removed chairman.
The suspension of the earlier verdict temporarily reinstates Major General Hafeez Ur Rehman, allowing him to continue his duties as PTA chairman pending the outcome of the appeals.
This decision marks the latest development in a legal dispute that has drawn significant attention from both the government and telecom industry stakeholders.
