Important announcement on vehicle entry rules for motorway

ISLAMABAD: In a significant update, authorities have announced that soon only vehicles equipped with M-Tags will be allowed access to motorways across Pakistan.

The National Highway Authority (NHA) has issued essential guidelines regarding this new policy. A spokesperson for the NHA confirmed that in the near future, only vehicles with M-Tags will be permitted to enter the motorways.

To facilitate the public, the M-Tag service is being offered free of charge until August 15. Motorists are encouraged to get their vehicles equipped with M-Tags during this period without any cost.

The M-Tag system is designed to make toll payments quicker and more efficient, ultimately saving travelers both time and money. Beginning August 16, the M-Tag requirement will be enforced on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway (M-11), with plans to gradually implement this mandate on all motorways nationwide.

The NHA highlighted that M-Tags ensure transparent digital transactions, allowing the collected funds to be effectively used for the public’s benefit. This initiative aims to streamline toll collection and enhance the overall experience for motorway users across the country.
