Imran Khan believes PML-N, PPP causing public-military rift: PTI’s Omar Ayub

PTI General Secretary Omar Ayub has revealed that Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is planning to take legal action to obtain CCTV footage related to the May 9 violence.

Ayub also claimed that Khan believes the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are deliberately creating a divide between the public and the military.

During his appearance at the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Omar Ayub emphasized that politics should be left to politicians, while the military, with its advanced weaponry and capabilities, should focus on its designated responsibilities. He stressed that the military, Frontier Corps (FC), and intelligence agencies are tools of the state and should operate strictly within their constitutional boundaries.

Omar Ayub also called for the establishment of an independent Election Commission, arguing that only a strong Prime Minister can navigate the country through its current challenges. He criticized the current government, which he described as ‘ineffective,’ and pointed to the recent hike in electricity prices as a significant burden on those earning modest incomes.

In his final remarks, Ayub reiterated the importance of releasing the CCTV footage from the May 9 incident and made it clear that PTI has no ongoing deals with any other political party.
