President Zardari, PM Shehbaz condemn Tirah Valley attack, vow to continue anti-terrorism fight

Three soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred while eliminating three terrorists in separate clashes in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District, as reported by the military.

On Saturday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack on security forces and expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.

The three brave soldiers—Havaldar Inam Gul, Sepoy Muhammad Imran, and Sepoy Altaf Khan—sacrificed their lives during firefights with terrorists at three different locations in the Tirah Valley on Friday. The President paid tribute to these soldiers, honoring their dedication and sacrifice for the nation. He also praised the security forces for their decisive actions against the terrorists and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism.

President Zardari reassured the nation of his support for the security forces, emphasizing that the entire country stands united in the battle to eradicate terrorism. He offered prayers for the swift recovery of the injured and extended his condolences to the families of the martyrs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments, commending the Pakistan Army for its relentless efforts to combat terrorism. Speaking from Lahore, he reiterated the government’s commitment to completely eliminating the threat of terrorism. He expressed pride in the nation’s martyrs and their families, affirming that the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Armed Forces in this war on terror.

According to a news release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army’s effective engagement resulted in the elimination of four terrorists. The soldiers who were martyred—Havaldar Inam Gul (37 years old, from District Mianwali), Sepoy Muhammad Imran (29 years old, from District Tank), and Sepoy Iltaf Khan (22 years old, from District Mardan)—fought valiantly in the operation.

The ISPR also announced that a sanitization operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, reaffirming the security forces’ determination to wipe out the menace of terrorism. The sacrifices of these brave soldiers, the ISPR stated, only strengthen their resolve to continue this critical mission.
