Exciting Clashes Mark Day 7 of 15th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship
Kakinada, August 7, 2025 –
The seventh day of the 15th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2025 witnessed thrilling action in Division ‘A’ league matches, held in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The day featured four intense encounters, with Chhattisgarh Hockey and Hockey Maharashtra registering strong wins, while Hockey Punjab vs. Hockey Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh Hockey vs. Hockey Bengal ended in dramatic draws.
In the opening match, Hockey Punjab and Hockey Chandigarh played out a tight contest. After a goalless first half, Hockey Punjab’s Pawanpreet Kaur broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute. However, Priyanka of Hockey Chandigarh responded with a late equalizer in the 58th minute, ending the match at 1-1.
The second fixture was equally competitive as Hockey Bengal took the lead through Laltlanchhungi in the 43rd minute. But Uttar Pradesh Hockey quickly responded, with Kumari Peetambari netting the equalizer in the 47th minute. The game concluded in a 1-1 stalemate.
Chhattisgarh Hockey dominated the third game of the day, delivering a commanding 6-1 victory over Hockey Karnataka. Madhu Sidar starred with four goals (6′, 29′, 39′, 51′), while Manisha Patel (41′) and Sheetal Yadav (48′) also contributed to the scoreboard. Vyshnavi Arul scored the only goal for Hockey Karnataka in the 12th minute.
In the final match, Hockey Maharashtra displayed attacking flair to defeat Hockey Andhra Pradesh 5-1. Sanjana Raikwar (22′, 52′) and Sanika Chandrakant Mane (17′, 57′) scored twice each, while Sanjana Deshya Khetawat (13′) added another. Ankitha Bommu (42′) netted the lone goal for Andhra Pradesh.
