Islamabad Police Extends Deadline to Obtain Driving License

Islamabad Police Extend Driving License Deadline to October 7

The Islamabad Police have announced an extension in the deadline for obtaining driving licenses, moving it from October 1 to October 7, 2025.

The decision, taken on the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aims to provide greater convenience to citizens and encourage compliance with traffic regulations.

According to the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), a strict enforcement drive will begin on October 18. Motorists and motorcyclists found driving without a valid license will face legal action, which may include arrest and impoundment of vehicles.

Authorities have also clarified that individuals caught without a driving license will not be eligible to receive character certificates until they obtain one.

To facilitate the public, the ITP has expanded services at licensing centers, extended working hours, and introduced mobile service units to meet the increasing demand. Citizens are strongly advised to complete the licensing process before the October 7 deadline to avoid penalties.

These steps are part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety, enhance law enforcement, and reduce unlicensed driving across the capital.
