Chinese Nationals Caught Trapping Wild Animals in Islamabad’s E7 Area
Serious concerns have been raised in Islamabad after Chinese nationals were caught on video trapping wild animals around the E7 hill road area. The footage, recorded by journalist Ayesha Khan, clearly shows the culprits along with their cars and license plates.
According to the report, the individuals were seen using two white Toyota Corolla cars with Islamabad registration plates: CX 001 (Corolla Altis Grande 1.8 automatic) and AKW 944 (likely Corolla GLI automatic). Both vehicles belong to the E170 generation of Corolla.
Witnesses claim the group has been capturing various animals, including foxes, monkeys, rabbits, wild boars, and even stray dogs. In one disturbing clip, a wild boar-like animal was seen lying in the trunk of one of the vehicles.
The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) has also stepped in, managing to recover a trapping device allegedly used by the suspects. A dog was found caught in this trap and later taken to a clinic for treatment. IWMB confirmed that the incident was reported at the Kohsar police station, where a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered.
However, despite both IWMB and Ayesha Khan filing complaints, little progress has been made. Instead of pursuing the stronger case filed by IWMB, authorities chose to register the journalist’s FIR. This has raised questions about the seriousness of police action in the matter.
At the time of publishing, no official response has been provided by the Kohsar police station. Citizens and animal rights advocates are calling for urgent action to stop illegal trapping and to protect Islamabad’s wildlife.
