Karachi to Launch Faceless E-Challan System from October 1, 2025
The Karachi Traffic Police, in collaboration with Lok Suhayta, has launched a citywide campaign to raise awareness about road safety and the upcoming faceless e-challan system.
What the New E-Challan System Means
From October 1, 2025, traffic violations in Karachi will be monitored through advanced surveillance cameras installed across the city. Any violation will automatically generate a digital challan, supported by photo or video evidence, which will then be delivered directly to the violator’s home.
This system removes the element of personal interference and ensures fair, transparent, and evidence-based enforcement.
Awareness Campaign Across the City
To educate citizens about the new mechanism, the Traffic Police have launched a large-scale awareness drive. Pamphlets are being distributed at key intersections and traffic signals. Volunteers, female constables, and students are also assisting officers in spreading the message of road safety and the importance of following traffic laws.
A spokesperson for the Traffic Police explained:
“This system ensures fairness and accountability — on your journey, Karachi Traffic Police is your companion.”
Expected Benefits
Authorities believe the initiative will:
-
Improve discipline on the roads
-
Reduce traffic accidents
-
Minimize corruption and arbitrary enforcement
-
Promote a culture of accountability in Karachi
The move is being hailed as a major step toward building a safe, organized, and law-abiding city.
