Korean Air Signs $50 Billion Deal to Buy 103 Boeing Aircraft

Korean Air has announced a massive $50 billion deal to purchase more than 100 Boeing aircraft, along with spare engines and a 20-year engine maintenance contract. The deal was finalized at a signing ceremony in Washington, attended by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and US President Donald Trump.

Deal Breakdown:

  • 103 Boeing Aircraft: $36.2 billion

  • 19 Spare Engines: $690 million from GE Aerospace and CFM International

  • 20-Year Engine Maintenance Contract: $13 billion with GE Aerospace

“This strategic deal strengthens Korean Air’s partnership with the US aviation industry,” the airline said in a statement. “It will boost operational capabilities, global competitiveness, and commercial ties for sustained growth.”

Aircraft Details and Delivery:
The order includes:

  • 20 Boeing 777-9s

  • 25 Boeing 787-10s

  • 50 Boeing 737-10s

  • 8 Boeing 777-8F freighters

The aircraft will be delivered in phases through the end of 2030, enhancing Korean Air’s fleet and global operations.
