LESCO Extends Electricity Bill Deadline for Flood-Affected Citizens

LESCO Extends Electricity Bill Deadlines to Provide Relief After Heavy Rains

Lahore – The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced an extension of electricity bill payment deadlines to provide relief to customers affected by recent rains and flood-like conditions across the region.

According to LESCO officials, the extensions will be granted in phases, focusing first on consumers living in the most severely impacted areas. Under company rules, each customer is eligible for up to two extensions on their due date.

  • First Extension: Bill payment deadlines are moved to September 25.

  • Second Extension: If payment is still pending, consumers can avail an additional extension until September 29.

LESCO has clarified that late payment surcharges will still apply after these extended dates:

  • A 5% surcharge will be added if bills are not cleared by the first extension.

  • A 10% surcharge will apply if payments remain pending beyond September 29.

The relief policy also extends to tube-well connections, ensuring agricultural consumers receive the same support.

LESCO stated that the decision was taken to help customers manage their payments despite the financial and logistical challenges caused by the adverse weather conditions.
