Orlando City Thrashes Inter Miami 4-1 as Luis Muriel Strikes Twice

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando City delivered a dominant performance on Sunday night, cruising to a 4-1 victory over Inter Miami in front of their home crowd.

Luis Muriel was the star of the match, scoring once in each half. His first came in the 2nd minute, giving Orlando an early advantage. Inter Miami responded quickly, with Yannick Bright netting his first career goal in the 5th minute to level the score.

Martín Ojeda, who assisted Muriel’s opener, continued his superb form by scoring Orlando’s third goal of the match in the 58th minute. His 27 goal contributions this season are the most in the league. Muriel also struck again early in the second half for his eighth goal of the season, putting Orlando back in front.

Marco Pašalić sealed the win with a late goal in the 88th minute — his 10th of the campaign. Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese made four crucial saves to keep Inter Miami at bay.

Inter Miami were without superstar Lionel Messi, who is tied for the league lead with 18 goals. The Argentine is sidelined with a right leg injury suffered earlier this month.

The result moves Orlando City into fourth place in the Eastern Conference, while Inter Miami sit sixth with several games in hand.

Next fixtures:

  • Inter Miami will host LA Galaxy on Saturday.

  • Orlando City will face Sporting Kansas City at home.
