Pakistan Airports Authority Plans New Faisalabad Airport

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has announced plans to develop a brand-new airport in Faisalabad, marking a major step forward in the country’s aviation infrastructure.

According to officials, the PAA has already started the process of hiring consultants. Interested firms have been invited to submit proposals for preparing the feasibility study, master plan, and design of the upcoming project. The submission deadline has been set for October 12, 2025.

Growing Air Travel Demand in Pakistan

The new facility in Faisalabad is expected to improve connectivity for both domestic and international travelers, meeting the increasing demand for modern and efficient air transport services in central Punjab.

Flyadeal Expands Operations in Pakistan

In a related development, Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline Flyadeal is strengthening its presence in Pakistan. The carrier is launching direct flights between Sialkot and Riyadh starting August 26, with three weekly services.

Flyadeal will operate the route using Airbus A320 aircraft, aiming to offer passengers affordable fares along with greater convenience.

More Routes Announced

The Sialkot–Riyadh connection is part of Flyadeal’s broader expansion in the Pakistani market. The airline recently unveiled four new routes, reflecting growing demand for travel between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Outlook

With the planned development of Faisalabad’s new airport and the entry of additional flight options from carriers like Flyadeal, Pakistan’s aviation sector is on track to provide travelers with better connectivity, modern facilities, and cost-effective travel choices in the years ahead.
