Marshall Softball Welcomes Three New Coaches to Strengthen Program

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall Softball program has made exciting new additions to its coaching staff, as Head Coach Morgan Zerkle officially announced the appointments of Riley Blampied, Olivia Bruno, and Drew Calloway.

“I’m thrilled to bring such passionate and talented individuals into our program,” said Coach Zerkle. “Each of them brings a unique strength that will help elevate our team on and off the field.”

Meet the New Coaching Staff:

Riley Blampied
A 2024 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Blampied was a standout player for the Gamecocks. She earned CSC Academic All-District honors twice and became just the 11th player in program history to notch both 100 RBIs and 100 runs. Hailing from Cordele, Georgia, she recently served as a graduate assistant at South Carolina and is currently playing professionally with the New York Rise.

Olivia Bruno
Joining as a graduate assistant, Bruno just wrapped up her collegiate career with the Kansas Jayhawks in 2025. The Topeka, Kansas native was named Second Team All-Big 12 and shined as a two-way player, finishing the season with a 2.91 ERA and 45 hits.

Drew Calloway
Stepping into the role of pitching coach, Calloway comes from the Arizona Wildcats, where he was a graduate assistant in 2025. With a background in collegiate baseball, he trained under the guidance of Coach Christian Conrad, known for his work with USA Softball and Athletes Unlimited. Arizona’s pitching staff finished the 2025 season with a 2.60 ERA, second-best in the Big 12 Conference.

These exciting hires mark a new chapter for Marshall Softball as the team gears up for future success.
