Systems at Bengaluru airport are also down, affecting nearly 90% of flights in Terminal 1, with disruptions expected to continue until midnight. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu stated that the ministry and the Airports Authority of India are using manual methods to minimize disruption. He has directed airport authorities and airlines to provide extra seating, water, and food for passengers affected by delays. The minister emphasized their commitment to ensuring safe and swift travel, appreciating passengers’ patience and cooperation.
Australia is among the worst affected countries. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC News 24 struggled to broadcast news packages, while Woolworths supermarkets faced checkout system crashes. Customers reported card issues, and police systems also went down. Melbourne Airport stated that the check-in process for several airlines is affected by the global technology issue. Virgin Australia reported a complete ground stop at Sydney Airport, preventing all planes from arriving or departing.
The London Stock Exchange has been impacted by the outage. In the US, the Federal Aviation Administration grounded flights from major airlines such as Delta, United, and American Airlines due to communication issues. 911 emergency services in several states are also affected. British news channel Sky News has been off the air for hours.
In Europe, technical issues are causing check-in delays in Amsterdam. At Berlin Brandenburg Airport, flight operations were canceled due to the “technical problem,” with no clear indication of when flights would resume. Zurich Airport, the largest in Switzerland, has suspended all flight arrivals due to the outage.
Millions of Windows users worldwide are experiencing the Blue Screen of Death, causing computers to shut down or restart repeatedly, leading to data loss and service interruptions. The error message displayed reads, “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some error info, and then we’ll restart for you.”
Blue Screen errors, also known as black screen errors or STOP code errors, occur when a critical issue forces Windows to unexpectedly shut down or restart. Microsoft 365 has stated that they are investigating the issue.
