Punjab Announces New Extended OPD Timings for Hospitals

Punjab Health Department Extends OPD Hours in Government Teaching Hospitals

The Punjab Health Department has announced extended outpatient department (OPD) hours across all government teaching hospitals to provide patients with improved access to medical care.

According to an official notification, OPDs will now operate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays—an extension of one hour compared to previous timings. On Fridays, OPD hours will remain from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Health Department said this adjustment aims to serve a larger number of patients, reduce waiting times, and better accommodate those traveling from distant areas.

Hospital administrations have been instructed to strictly implement the new OPD schedule to ensure smooth and efficient patient services.
