The Lahore Smart City Pink Polo Cup 2025 kicked off in grand style at the historic Jinnah Polo Fields, featuring high-energy matches, top-notch performances, and an electric atmosphere. The opening day saw two thrilling encounters that kept fans glued to their seats.
Opening Ceremony
Spectators turned out in great numbers as eight teams, each featuring at least one female player, began their tournament journey. The event was inaugurated by Maj (Retd) Adil Rao, Secretary of Jinnah Polo Fields, alongside several former polo players. Maj Rao praised the enthusiasm of fans and highlighted that this is a four-goal tournament featuring some of the best polo talent in Pakistan.
Match 1: Rijas/Din Polo vs Master Paints Black (8-7, Sudden Death)
The first clash of the day saw Rijas/Din Polo edge out Master Paints Black in a breathtaking 8-7 victory, decided in sudden death during the fifth chukka.
The game was neck and neck throughout, with both sides trading goals and maintaining pressure until the very end. In extra time, Raja Samiullah emerged as the hero for Rijas/Din Polo, scoring the decisive goal to secure victory.
Samiullah’s performance was outstanding, netting six goals, while Faisal Shehzad and Sheikh Muhammad Farhad added one each.
