Langeliers Powers A’s to 16-7 Rout Over Nationals with Three Home Runs
WASHINGTON, August 6 – Shea Langeliers put on a show at the plate Tuesday night, smashing three solo home runs as part of a five-hit performance to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 16-7 blowout win over the Washington Nationals.
Langeliers added a double and a single, marking his second career game with three homers. JJ Bleday also had a standout night, going 4-for-6 with a home run and a career-high six RBIs. The A’s racked up a season-high 24 hits in a dominant offensive display.
Luis Severino (6-11) pitched six innings for the win, allowing three runs on five hits.
For Washington, Luis Garcia Jr. had three hits and Nathaniel Lowe walked four times, but the team couldn’t stop the skid. The Nationals have now lost six straight, surrendering 54 runs in their last four games. Starter MacKenzie Gore (4-12) was tagged for eight runs on 12 hits in just over three innings.
Langeliers set the tone early, leading off the game with a home run. He added another in the fifth and his third in the sixth, pushing his season total to 22 home runs.
Rangers 2, Yankees 0 – Eovaldi Dominates in One-Hit Gem
In Arlington, Texas, Rowdy Tellez delivered a clutch two-run single in the eighth inning to lift the Texas Rangers to a 2-0 win over the New York Yankees.
Tellez’s bases-loaded single came off Yankees closer Devin Williams (3-4), scoring Adolis Garcia and Joc Pederson. The real star, however, was Nathan Eovaldi (10-3), who pitched eight brilliant innings, allowing only one hit and no walks.
Yankees starter Will Warren held Texas scoreless over five innings, but the New York offense struggled once again, managing just two hits despite the return of Aaron Judge from the injured list. The Yankees have now dropped five straight games.
Brewers 7, Braves 2 – Peralta Becomes NL’s First 13-Game Winner
Freddy Peralta earned his National League-leading 13th win as the Milwaukee Brewers claimed a 7-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves, extending their winning streak to five games.
Peralta (13-5) threw 108 pitches over five innings, allowing one run on four hits. He improved his career record to 5-2 against the Braves. The Brewers bullpen held strong, with Nick Mears, Aaron Ashby, and Grant Anderson combining to close out the game.
Atlanta starter Joey Wentz (2-3) was charged with five runs over 5 1/3 innings in the loss.
Twins 6, Tigers 3 – Keaschall Hits First Career Homer
Luke Keaschall made a memorable return from the injured list, hitting his first career home run and leading the Minnesota Twins to a 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers.
Activated Tuesday after recovering from a forearm fracture, Keaschall added a run-scoring single to his night. Ryan Jeffers chipped in with two doubles, two runs, and an RBI. Zebby Matthews (3-3) earned the win, allowing just one run on five hits over five innings.
Chris Paddack (4-10), facing his former team in just his second start for Detroit, allowed four runs over four innings. Jahmai Jones hit a two-run triple, while Kerry Carpenter collected two hits and an RBI for the Tigers.
