NHMP Launches Campaign Against Cash Drop Fraud at Motorway Service Areas

ISLAMABAD – September 23, 2025: The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has launched a special campaign to combat cash drop fraud in motorway service areas. The initiative comes after reports that some shopkeepers were cheating travelers by returning less money or engaging in other dishonest practices.

Key Details of the Campaign

  • Sector M-2 South is the first focus area for this operation.

  • Panaflex banners have been installed at service areas to alert travelers about potential scams.

  • Educational units of the Motorway Police are conducting awareness sessions in service area mosques, informing the public about their consumer rights and safety measures.

According to NHMP spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, the campaign aims to protect road users from financial exploitation while encouraging vigilance and responsible behavior at motorway shops.

Travelers are advised to check their change carefully and report any fraudulent activity to the nearest Motorway Police personnel.
