NACTA to Issue List as Pakistan Flood Donations Campaigns Face Ban

NACTA Issues Guidelines on Flood Donation Campaigns

The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) has issued clear instructions that only registered and verified organizations will be allowed to collect donations for flood relief in Pakistan.

According to the directive, any unverified fundraising drives, posters, or advertisements related to flood donations will be removed. Legal action may also be taken in line with national laws.

Ensuring Transparency in Relief Efforts

NACTA has highlighted that unverified groups may misuse donation campaigns by disguising themselves as humanitarian initiatives. To ensure transparency and compliance with international requirements, particularly those of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), all fundraising activities must first be approved through proper verification channels.

International Support for Flood Victims

While authorities focus on ensuring lawful donation campaigns, international organizations continue to extend their support for Pakistan’s flood-affected communities. The Gates Foundation has contributed $1 million through the World Health Organization to strengthen health services in 33 affected districts. The United Nations has also provided $600,000 in emergency assistance. Relief agencies such as Action Against Hunger are delivering food, medical kits, hygiene products, and clean water facilities in remote districts.

Call for Verified Relief Operations

NACTA has advised federal and provincial governments, along with law enforcement bodies, to circulate the updated list of banned entities and ensure that only authorized organizations are allowed to operate relief and rehabilitation campaigns for flood victims.
