NADRA Launches Nationwide Registration Drive for Minority Communities
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a nationwide registration campaign aimed at facilitating the issuance and renewal of identity documents for minority communities across Pakistan.
The week-long initiative runs from August 4 to August 11, 2025, aligning with the observance of National Minorities Day. The campaign is designed to simplify and encourage the registration process, ensuring equal access to essential government services.
Promoting Equal Rights and Access
In an official statement, NADRA reaffirmed its commitment to equality, declaring, “You are allowed to have the same rights as every other citizen.” The campaign highlights the importance of having valid identification to access services such as:
-
Education
-
Healthcare
-
Social welfare programs
-
Voting and participation in democratic processes
Mobile Registration Vans for Greater Access
To ensure inclusivity and reach underserved areas, Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) will be deployed nationwide. These mobile units aim to bring services directly to communities that may face barriers in reaching NADRA centers.
Individuals may also visit their nearest NADRA office to complete the registration or renewal process during the campaign period.
A Step Toward Inclusion
This initiative is part of NADRA’s ongoing digital transformation and inclusive service strategy. By simplifying access to legal identity, the program is seen as a significant move toward empowering marginalized groups and promoting equal citizenship.
The campaign has been widely praised by civil society organizations and minority rights advocates as a positive step toward greater inclusion and representation.
