New season, same old dominance: Mbappe’s impressive goal stats continue to grow

Mbappe Off to a Flying Start in La Liga 2025-26 Season

Kylian Mbappe has started the new La Liga 2025-26 season just as he finished the lastโ€”scoring goals and breaking records. The French star once again proved decisive, netting the only goal in Real Madridโ€™s 1-0 victory over Osasuna on Matchday 1.

Mbappe needed time to settle in Spain last season, but once he adapted, he became unstoppable. The leagueโ€™s top scorer and Golden Boot winner ended the previous campaign with nine goals in his last five league appearances. Against Osasuna, he added another strike to underline his status as Real Madridโ€™s most lethal weapon.

Since his debut in the famous white shirt, Mbappe has dominated La Ligaโ€™s attacking charts:

  • Most goals: 32

  • Most matches scored in: 22

  • Most hat-tricks: 2

  • Most braces: 6 (joint with Robert Lewandowski)

But his influence goes even further. He has now scored the opening goal 12 times, more than any other player, with four of those coming in his last five games. He has also delivered six match-winning goals, tied with Lewandowski and Ayoze, showing his ability to decide games single-handedly.

His penalty against Osasunaโ€™s Sergio Herrera also brought him level with Budimir for the most penalty goals (8) since his league debut. And for those who value open-play strikes, Mbappe remains on top there as well, tied with Lewandowski at 24 goals.

Following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, Mbappe looks set to carry the scoring mantle at the Santiago Bernabeu. If his current form continues, he could define a new era for Real Madrid and establish himself as the face of La Liga.
