Pakistan Men’s Football Team Set for Coaching Staff Changes

Following Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, the national men’s football team is preparing to make key changes to its coaching staff.

According to sources, head coach Nolberto Solano is leading a restructuring effort to improve team performance and professionalism. As part of the revamp, local assistant coaches Mehmood Khan and Gohar Zaman will no longer be part of the national setup. The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is now considering a new assistant coach, potentially a foreign appointment, and a performance analyst to strengthen the team’s technical department.

Former captain and current goalkeeping coach Jaffar Khan is expected to continue in his role with the senior squad.

Solano, who took charge of the national team just a few months ago, has emphasized the importance of tactical preparation and higher standards for Pakistan football. The planned appointments are seen as a strategic move to raise the team’s competitiveness ahead of upcoming international fixtures.

While the final appointments are yet to be announced, the addition of a performance analyst could help Pakistan football bridge the gap with more established Asian sides.

The national team will next resume its AFC Asian Cup qualification campaign against Afghanistan next month. With a revamped coaching staff and the inclusion of experienced foreign-based players, Solano aims to deliver stronger performances in the months ahead.
