NSW Squash Bega Open 2025 Kicks Off Tomorrow
The 2025/26 PSA Squash Tour season gets underway with the NSW Squash Bega Open Copper-level event at Bega Country Club from 13-17 August. Fans can watch live coverage on SQUASHTV.
India’s rising star Anahat Singh headlines the women’s draw. The 17-year-old sensation, who claimed 12 PSA titles in her career with nine in the past year, starts her campaign after a first-round bye and will face either Sarah Cardwell or Colette Sultana. Singh is in the same quarter as No.7 seed Hayley Ward.
The top half of the draw also features a trio of talented Egyptians: No.3 seed Amina El Rihany, Nour Khafagy, and Nadien Elhammamy. El Rihany, ranked just outside her career-high of World No.59, aims to break into the top 50, while 18-year-old Elhammamy is coming off a runner-up finish at the World Junior Championships.
In the bottom half, top seeds include Habiba Hani (Egypt), Madison Lyon (Australia), Alexandra Haydon (Australia), and Akanksha Salunkhe (India). Hani begins her run against Ella Lash or Sarbani Maitra, with a possible quarter-final clash against No.8 seed Lyon.
Six Australian players—Cardwell, Grinham, Haydon, Muniandy, Lyon, and wildcard Maitra—will rely on home support.
Action begins at 18:00 (GMT+10) on Wednesday, 13 August, with two courts hosting the opening round.
