OGRA Reduces LPG Rates for August 2025

OGRA Reduces LPG Prices for August 2025

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a significant reduction in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices, effective August 1, 2025. This revision brings relief to both producers and consumers across the country.

🔻 Revised LPG Prices

🔧 Producer Prices

  • August 2025: Rs. 174,069.26 per ton / Rs. 2,054.02 per 11.8 kg cylinder

  • July 2025: Rs. 191,802.01 per ton / Rs. 2,263.26 per 11.8 kg cylinder

  • Decrease: Rs. 17,732.75 per ton / Rs. 209.24 per 11.8 kg cylinder

🛒 Consumer Prices

  • August 2025: Rs. 215,369.26 per ton / Rs. 2,541.36 per 11.8 kg cylinder

  • July 2025: Rs. 233,102.01 per ton / Rs. 2,750.60 per 11.8 kg cylinder

  • Decrease: Rs. 17,732.75 per ton / Rs. 209.24 per 11.8 kg cylinder

  • Per kg decrease: Rs. 17.73

📊 Reason for Price Change

According to OGRA, the reduction is largely due to a 9.8% drop in the Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP), which directly influences domestic LPG pricing. Although the average USD exchange rate increased slightly by 0.38%, it was not enough to offset the overall downward trend.

Impact

This adjustment represents a 7.6% decrease in consumer prices per cylinder and is expected to ease inflationary pressure on households and small businesses that rely on LPG for daily energy needs.
