OGRA Seizes 135,000 Liters of Adulterated Fuel in Muzaffargarh Raid

OGRA Seizes 135,000 Liters of Adulterated Fuel in Muzaffargarh Raid

 Apr 13, 2026

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has imposed a fine of Rs. 11 million on a petrol pump in Muzaffargarh after uncovering the use of harmful chemicals mixed in fuel. The action is part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown on fuel adulteration and illegal storage practices.

Action Taken After Media Report

Officials stated that the action was initiated following a media report highlighting suspicious oil storage activities at Rana Filling Station.

During the raid, authorities discovered more than 135,000 liters of petrol and diesel stored without a valid license.

Laboratory Findings Confirm Adulteration

According to officials, laboratory tests confirmed the presence of chemical substances in both petrol and diesel. These adulterants pose serious risks to vehicles, engines, and public safety.

Investigators also found evidence that the fuel was being mixed with chemicals and distributed to different areas.

Regulatory Measures and Penalties

Following the findings, OGRA:

  • Cancelled the station’s No Objection Certificate (NOC)
  • Ordered the seizure of fuel storage tanks and related equipment
  • Imposed a fine of Rs. 11 million

The district administration has also been instructed to take control of the confiscated petroleum products.

Wider Crackdown on Illegal Practices

Authorities emphasized that strict action will continue against illegal fuel operations across the country. The regulator also indicated possible action against the private oil company linked to the station, reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy toward fuel adulteration.
