Oleksandr Usyk team director names the next Ukrainian prospect to become a world champion

Ukraine’s Boxing Glory Continues with Rising Star Daniel Lapin

Ukraine continues to dominate the global boxing scene following Oleksandr Usyk’s impressive knockout victory over Daniel Dubois last month. Usyk’s fifth-round finish not only cemented his status as one of the sport’s all-time greats but also made him a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion.

A Legacy of Champions

Ukraine has a rich history of producing elite boxers who rise to the top of the sport. From the legendary Klitschko brothers, Wladimir and Vitali, to the masterful Vasiliy Lomachenko, Ukrainian fighters have long left their mark on world boxing.

Now, a new name is being added to that list — Daniel Lapin.

A Future World Champion?

Sergey Lapin, director of Team Usyk, believes that Daniel Lapin is poised to become Ukraine’s next big boxing superstar.

“Daniel is facing real challenges, and that’s exactly what helps him grow,” Sergey Lapin told Plejmo. “His last fight at Wembley tested him against a tricky opponent with an awkward style. After the bout, he was already asking for a rematch — that shows the hunger and motivation.”

With a professional record of 12-0, including four wins by knockout, Daniel Lapin is steadily climbing the ranks. The 28-year-old light heavyweight recently fought on the undercard of Usyk’s win at Wembley, taking on British contender Lewis Edmonson. The bout went the full 10 rounds, with Lapin emerging victorious by majority decision.

“We know where we’re headed,” added Lapin’s manager. “The path to a world title isn’t supposed to be easy, but Daniel has the physical tools, technical skill, and the character to make it all the way.”

Lapin’s next fight is already scheduled for this fall in the UK, as he looks to continue his unbeaten streak and make a name for himself on the international stage.
