In a positive development for overseas employment, Oman is set to relax visa requirements for Pakistani workers, following high-level discussions between the two countries’ leadership.

During his official visit to Muscat on Thursday, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Oman’s Royal Minister, General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and address issues faced by Pakistani nationals living in Oman.

🤝 Strengthening Pakistan-Oman Relations

The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in labor mobility, security coordination, and mutual trade facilitation. Both sides agreed that simplifying visa procedures will open new doors for skilled and semi-skilled Pakistani professionals, helping them access better employment opportunities in Oman.

🛂 Easier Visa Procedures on the Horizon

Minister Naqvi stressed that streamlined visa processing would benefit both nations by supporting Oman’s workforce needs while boosting Pakistan’s overseas employment and remittance inflows.

General Al Nu’amani appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to Oman’s development and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties through policy reforms and improved administrative procedures.

🌍 Broader Regional Cooperation

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional stability and shared security interests, emphasizing continued coordination to promote peace and development across the Gulf region.

This meeting marks another step forward in the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and Oman, and officials on both sides expect a formal policy announcement soon regarding the updated visa facilitation measures.
