Pakistan, Kazakhstan Sign Action Plan to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
Pakistan and Kazakhstan on Tuesday signed an Action Plan of Cooperation aimed at enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties, the Foreign Office announced.
During high-level talks in Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with his Kazakh counterpart Murat Nurtleu. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to boost trade, investment, agriculture, IT, education, tourism, and regional connectivity.
Kazakhstan, Pakistan’s top export destination in Central Asia, saw bilateral trade grow to $239 million, according to Kazakh envoy Yerzhan Kistafin. The discussions also finalized the roadmap for President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s upcoming visit to Pakistan in November.
The two countries have previously agreed on a transit trade deal through Karachi, Bin Qasim, and Gwadar ports and are exploring direct flights to Skardu and joint tourism promotions.
This step marks a significant move toward closer Pakistan-Kazakhstan collaboration across trade, connectivity, and cultural exchange.
