Pakistan Navy Clinches 4th CNS All Pakistan Hockey Tournament Title

Lahore: Pakistan Navy lifted the trophy of the 4th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Hockey Tournament 2025, defeating Mari Energies 6-5 in a nail-biting final at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore.

Mari Energies claimed the runner-up position, while Pakistan Air Force (PAF) secured third place in the prestigious tournament.

Colorful Closing Ceremony

The concluding ceremony was graced by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf as the chief guest. He congratulated the winning side and praised the organizers — including Commander Central Punjab, Sports Board Punjab, Pakistan Hockey Federation, sponsors, and media — for successfully hosting the event.

The Naval Chief also emphasized the importance of reviving hockey, Pakistan’s national game, urging both public and private institutions to play their role in its promotion.

In addition, Rana Waleed (Pakistan Navy) was named Player of the Match in the final for his outstanding all-round display.

Thrilling Final Match

The grand finale kept fans on the edge of their seats. Mari Energies took an early lead through Sufyan Khan, followed by another goal from Arshad Liaqat. Pakistan Navy fought back as Saifullah reduced the deficit, and Rana Waleed equalized with a brilliant strike.

With scores locked at 2-2 after regulation time, the contest moved to a dramatic penalty shootout. Both sides converted twice in the first round, leading to sudden death. Navy’s Hannan and Zikrya held their nerves to secure the title, while Mari Energies missed a crucial attempt, sealing a 6-5 victory for Pakistan Navy.

About the Tournament

The 10-day event, held from September 25 to October 4, 2025, featured eight top teams including Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Mari Energies, Rangers, Police, Port Qasim, and National Bank of Pakistan. The tournament drew large crowds, including former Olympians, students, civil and military dignitaries, who all witnessed the revival of exciting hockey action.
