The state-of-the-art vessel was unveiled at a high-profile ceremony held at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW). Built with cutting-edge, long-range semi-automatic weaponry, the gunboat is designed by the Pakistan Navy’s Platform Design Wing (PDW) and is currently under construction at KS&EW.

According to official statements, PNS SAHIWAL will be equipped with high-performance long-range guns, allowing it to conduct a wide range of maritime security missions, from coastal defense to anti-smuggling and patrol operations in Pakistan’s territorial waters.

The event was attended by senior naval officials, including Vice Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Ovais Ahmed Bilgrami, who commended the collaboration between PDW and KS&EW. The Navy also revealed plans to produce additional vessels of this type, which would further strengthen maritime security, create job opportunities, and boost local shipbuilding capabilities.
