The Pakistan Navy successfully conducted a search and rescue operation in the North Arabian Sea, saving 18 crew members, including foreign nationals, from a distressed merchant vessel, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Rescue operation at sea

The operation was carried out by PNS HUNAIN after a distress call was received from the merchant vessel Gold Autumn, located approximately 200 nautical miles (around 370 kilometers) off the Pakistan coastline.

Medical aid and evacuation

Navy personnel provided immediate medical assistance, firefighting support, and damage assessment onboard the vessel. All crew members were safely evacuated.

The rescued individuals included nationals from China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Indonesia. They were later transported to Karachi for further medical care and repatriation to their respective countries.
