Pakistan Advances to Knockout Stage at 2nd Asian Team Squash Championships
Pakistan’s strong performance at the 2nd Asian Team Squash Championships continues, as the men’s doubles team of Noor Zaman and Nasir Iqbal secured their third consecutive group-stage victory.
The Pakistani duo wrapped up their group campaign with a dominant win over Chinese Taipei, taking the match in straight games with scores of 11-2 and 11-9. Their earlier wins came against the Philippines and South Korea, allowing them to finish at the top of their group.
With this win, Zaman and Iqbal move on to the next round, where they will face the 10th-seeded South Korean team of Jaejin Yoo and Jeongmin Ryu.
Seeded second in the tournament, Pakistan has impressed with a blend of aggressive shot-making and solid defense. Against Chinese Taipei, they started strong and maintained composure in the second game to close out the match.
Noor Zaman, one of the country’s rising squash talents, has formed a well-balanced partnership with the seasoned Nasir Iqbal, a former top-40 singles player. Together, they have become one of the standout pairs in the tournament.
